#PayingItForward

The founder and CEO of The Mind Lab, Francis (who I work for) was generous enough to give every employee $100 as a celebration of the company reaching two years old. We were to accept this gift on one condition: That we made an impact on someone elses life. 
I decided to split my $100 donation 50:50.

The first half went to the Celia Lashlie Projects. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/clp 

In case you have not heard of Celia, she was an advocate for women and young people, especially boys. She died in February this year. 

Having worked at a boys school before The Mind Lab, her life’s work resonated with me. She did visit us at school and I was fortunate to see her speak so passionately about boy’s welfare.

The second half was a nominal donation to the school I went to as a child in London. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charity-web/charity/finalCharityHomepage.action?charityId=1009361 

  Hydeburn School as it was back then, now Chestnut Grove Academy, have set up a registered charity to help them raise funds for various ongoing projects. So I decided to donate the other $50 to them as a small gesture of my loyalty to the school community as Chestnut Grove was part of my formative years.
